Tajika Takeji Scissors B-5 / B-6 BLACK
Banshu Ono, located northwest of Kobe, has been known as a town of metalwork since the Muromachi period, and has been a place where scissors are made. It is in this city that the Takuji Scissors Factory has been in operation for four generations since the beginning of the Showa period.
"Takejisaku" is a product of the traditional techniques handed down at Taku Haruo Scissors Factory, which carefully craft each knife one by one using traditional methods of forming and sharpening the iron.
Traditionally, many scissors of this shape have been made, such as Hakata scissors and Honshu scissors.
The base metal is extremely soft iron and the steel is a composite steel material of Shirogami No. 2.
The surface is covered with a black coating, giving it a texture that allows the iron to show through thinly, and the scissors are hand-sharpened and back-sharpened using cutting scissors techniques that have been around for 90 years, ensuring that the scissors maintain their sharpness for a long time. With use, the coating will thin out and the dull iron color of the base metal will gradually emerge, giving the scissors a very tasteful appearance. Made using the same manufacturing method as professional scissors, they can be used to cut a variety of materials, from paper to cloth.
