Banshu Ono, located northwest of Kobe, has been known as a town of metalwork since the Muromachi period, and scissors have been made here. In Ono city, craftsmen have been hand-making each and every pair for a long time. Japanese scissors made using traditional methods are no longer being produced due to a shortage of craftsmen and a decline in material production, and are becoming scarce. There are many types of grip scissors, with the "claw-shaped" type generally being used in the Kanto region and the "long-bladed" type being more commonly used in the Kansai region.
Various names such as "Haruyoshi" and "Munehachi" are engraved on the blade, but they are all products of the same specifications and there is no difference in performance or quality.
